TOM REILLY: Tom was an All-State player and career scoring leader at Brick Twp. HS in NJ, followed by a 4-year career at the University of South Carolina. He has been named NJ State HS Coach of the Year while guiding Ocean Twp HS to 4 NJ State sectional titles and 1 overall State Group III Championship. Tom has a USSF “A” license and has been Director of Coaching for Coerver of NJ, PA, & DE since 1991, as well as stints as Director of Coerver in MD, NC, & CO.

KEVIN GANNON: Kevin won a NCAA Div. III National Championship at Brockport State in 1974. He was selected in the NASL draft and played for the Rochester Lancers in a league featuring Pele, Beckenbauer, Cruyff, Best, and future Coerver Coaching founder Charlie Cooke. Kevin later coached at Princeton University with current US Mens National Team coach Bob Bradley, before leading St Rose of Belmar NJ to a State HS Championship as head coach. Kevin has been a Director of Coerver NJ, PA, & DE since 1991.

ROB BECHTLOFF: High School coach for over 20 years. Coached numerous teams to State Sectional Championships and Divisional Titles. Coerver Staff Coach for over twenty years. One of two original coaches who started Coerver Coaching in NJ and PA. USSF licensed coach Captain and four year starter for National Champion Glassboro State College. First team All State and number retired at Brick High School in NJ

ED LEIBE: played for Steinert High School where he was an NSCAA and Adidas All-American in 1981. Ed went on to North Carolina State University where he played two years before transferring to perennial powerhouse University of Maryland. While at Maryland, Ed helped the Terrapins to a national ranking as high as 8th in the country.

In 1988 Ed earned a coaching certificate from the renowned Dutch National Team Organization KNVB. Ed has been a Coerver Coach since 1995. In 2009 Ed’s Toms River South Indians won the Group 4 State Championship. Coach Leibe was named Coach of the Year by the Asbury Park Press, AllShore Media, NFHS, and the NJSIAA.

PEG MATTHEWS: Peg played 4 years at Brick HS before moving on to Springfield College, where she was a 3 year all-conference player. Peg was Head Women's Soccer Coach at Ocean County College, winning 3 Region 19 Championships,and being voted NSCAA Regional Coach of Year 3 times and NSCAA National Coach of Year runner up. She then moved on to coach Rider University, was an assistant coach for the Monsignor Donovan HS boys varsity, and is currently the head womens coach at Manasquan HS. Peg has been a Coerver Coach since 1994.

KEN PROTHERO: Ken is the head women’s soccer coach at Cabrini College in Radnor, PA. He has led the Cavaliers to three CSAC Conference Championships and three trips to the NCAA Tournament since taking over the program in 2002. He was awarded conference Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2010. Ken holds National, State, and Goalkeeper Level I & II Coaching Diplomas from the NSCAA. He was a goalkeeper at Bucknell University from 1992-96. Ken was named All-State at Glen Ridge High School and played club soccer for the Clifton Stallions. He has been a Coerver Staff Coach since 2004.

J.T. LISS: An All-County, All-Shore, All-State selection in high school, J.T. went on to become a 4 year starter for Elizabethtown College. After college he became an assistant coach for Lebanon Valley College for 2 years until moving to New York City where he currently coaches soccer for at risk youth. J.T. holds an Advanced Regional Diploma through the NSCAA and has been a coach with Coerver for the past 11 years.

RYAN SHERMAN: Ryan is Coerver of NJ, PA, and DE’s Director of Team Training as well as a top summer camp clinician. Ryan played club ball for PDA and HS for Ocean Twp and St Benedict’s Prep before a 4-year career at Boston College. There he played and roomed with current National Team players Charlie Davies and Alejandro Bedoya. He is a certified Coerver Coaching trainer and is currently pursuing his NSCAA credentials as well.

STEPHANIE BEST: College: Played four years at Rider University help the team get to the finals twice for the MAAC Conference Tournament.
Semi-pro: Played four years on the South Jersey Banshees in the W-League
Coaching: Assistant Varsity coach at St. John Vianney High School for five years
Coerver: 2003- Present

SEAN CURRY: Sean has been involved in the beautiful game of soccer for the past thirty years as a player, coach, and referee. He has worked with Coerver Coaching for the past eight years in summer camps and individual team training. He has been a head high school boys and girls coach for 18 seasons and won 2 District Championships. Sean is a member of the NSCAA and the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association. He holds the NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma. Sean is currently the head coach of the boys varsity soccer team at Scranton Preparatory School in Scranton, PA.

TREVOR REILLY: Trevor began his immersion into the Coerver Method as a 4 year old coming to camps to learn the techniques and acquire the skills to compete at the highest levels. He has worked in every facet of the Coerver camp operation and is now one of our most requested team trainers or camp clinicians.

MIKE PARSHELUNIS: Mike was a former Coerver camper and 4 yr varsity player at St Rose HS before playing 4 yrs at Monmouth University. He was an assistant coach at St Rose for the boys team for 7 years, winning state sectional titles 4 times and 1 overall Parochial B State Championship. He took over the girls varsity in 2009 and coached them to a NJ State Parochial B Championship in 2010. Mike has worked as a Coerver Coach since 1998.

FRANK MARRONE: Frank is a former Coerver Camper. He played four years at Brick Memorial H.S. and was a two year all-county and all-conference player. Frank played club ball for Brick, Jersey Shore BOCA as well as Ocean Township. His college career consisted of 4 years at Ramapo College and he was named captain for his senior year. Frank has been coaching high school soccer for five years at Wall High School, and has been a Coerver Coach since 2001.

JEFF SOARES: Jeff was a 3 yr Varsity goalkeeper for Ocean Township HS, 1st team All State as a senior. Jeff played 5 Years for NJ and Region 1 ODP while playing club for Ocean United and Red Bull Academy. He played at NC Wesleyan College and at Kean University before moving into coaching. Jeff is assistant coach of Manasquan HS Girls Varsity and Head Staff coach for CoerverGK of NJ, PA, DE.

COLE VENNIE: Cole has been an assistant coach with the Cabrini College women’s soccer program since 2007. Cole played four seasons at Misericordia University from 2001-05 and sits atop several all-time scoring lists. She ranks first in single-season points and goals, second in career goals, and tied for second in career points, career assists and single-season assists. Cole, a two-time team captain, led the Cougars to three NCAA Tournament appearances and two Pennsylvania Athletic Conference crowns. She has been a Coerver Staff Coach since 2006.

SEAN REID: Sean played collegiately at D3 superpower UNC-G, winning 3 consecutive National Championships, 1985-87. His coaching stints have taken him from Methodist College in NC to Brookdale CC in NJ. Sean is currently the Head Coach at Red Bank Regional HS.  He holds a KNVB certificate and has worked for Coerver Coaching since 1994.

SAMMY THOMPSON: Sammy graduated Cabrini College in 2012 as one of the most respected women’s soccer players in the program's history. She was a four year all-conference center midfielder and was selected to the NSCAA All-Region Team in 2011. She lead the team to over 50 wins during her career, including two conference championships and two NCAA tournament appearances. She was a two-year captain and was awarded Most Outstanding Senior Athlete. Sammy was also the starting shortstop on Cabrini's softball team for four years. She is a coach in the Radnor Soccer Club and has been a Coerver Staff Coach since 2011.
